Form Smart dropdown is an enhancement of the dropdown feature wherein a datalist can be added as a dropdown.

Creating a smart dropdown

• Create the source spreadsheet.

• Create another spreadsheet for the dropdown. Here, add the respective column name and the list of options to be displayed.

• Connect the two spreadsheets using the option Dropdown Columns.

• The dropdown list is displayed in the source spreadsheet.

• Create two datalists using the two spreadsheets and add them to the dashboard.

• Create a form using the source spreadsheet. While adding fields with dropdown lists, you have two options: “Classic” which is the default style and “Smart” which enables a datalist to be added as a dropdown.
• Choose the Dropdown style as “smart” and select the datalist from the dropdown list.

• Save your form and connect it to the first datalist.

• View your dashboard. Smart Dropdown is displayed for the selected
  field within a form.
